Where : Pretoria is situated in the Gauteng Province of South Africa
Latitude: 25° 43' South Longitude: 28° 11' East
Altitude 1300 meters
Known as the Jacaranda City , Pretoria is the Administrative Capital of South Africa. The office of the State President is situated in the UNION BUILDINGS overlooking the City of Pretoria.
Pretoria is named after the Voortrekker leader Andries Pretorius. This name is earmarked to change to the City of Tshwane. It is believed that Chief Tshwane had his home on the banks of the Apies River long before the Voortrekkers settled in the area.
